The next UN Secretary-General, the Organization’s Chief Administrative Officer, will be appointed by the General Assembly in 2026.

The outcome is a make or break opportunity for jump-starting UN effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.

DOGE-UN works to prepare stakeholders with information, engagement, and a critical eye.

But first, candidates need clarity on Member States’ expectations - and as soon as possible. DOGE-UN will be polling for that.

Throughout, DOGE-UN will ask

• What is the job description?

• Who is under consideration?

• When does the process really begin?

• How is the selection and appointment made?

One more big question:

• Where are we? In the room, or the waiting room?

DOGE-UN will keep a leader board here (in preparation). Meanwhile calls for candidates, particularly women candidates, and increasing.
